Michael Brownlow has been our Client Builder moderator/consultant for our top two Agency-sponsored Client Builder groups for the past four years. He also has established individual coaching relationships with a number of the advisors he has worked with in these groups. I found this to be a favorable contrast with previous Client Builder moderators I’ve had over the past 25 years (since I’ve always like an outside moderator for our top groups). They’ve all added value but in some cases the style of their work over time became the dominant personality in the group. Michael is uniquely skilled to be understated but having no less value with his insights, preparation, and follow up.

In the year that Michael has taken over our client builders my production and activity are up 30% across the board. Michael does a great job at meeting you exactly where you are at in your practice and pushing you to become the best version of yourself. He’s great at highlighting the areas of your practice that will lead to growth. When he does this, I feel validated that I’m working towards my vision day by day. When there are things that could be improved, he points these out in a way that doesn’t make you feel like a gigantic failure and gives you practical advice on how
things can be tweaked for better outcomes. I’ve received a handwritten letter. In the letter that Mike sent me, he expressed a lot of appreciation for my attention, focus and positive energy that I brought to the client builders. More importantly, he gave me the confirmation that I have what it takes to not only be a successful advisor in the business but also a successful leader. His letter couldn’t have come at a more important time in my career. Michael’s feedback is direct and constructive. I think he always provides tactical and strategic guidance on how to improve my practice rather than just discussing hypothetical solutions. For example, we do not simply discuss our performance month by month but also how that performance relates to our overall business plan for the year and how we need to adapt/change to hit our targets
Organization of his process each week. We come in knowing exactly what needs to be prepared and have time to talk about what we feel we need feedback on. He does a really good job at letting everyone else give feedback and then come in and give his own feedback. He has also done a very good job at sharing information documents/material from his own practice that if there is a common theme that month he will send out a follow up email with material we can utilize in our own practices. I liked the insight and relatability he was able to provide. Every time we meet he is always giving us a deliverable that we can implement into our practice based off ofour discussions. He made builder fun and interactive. He was very knowledgeable and was always able to provide insightful feedback to the topic at hand.
Overall, this is the best builder experience I have had in my career.
He has been hands down my favorite PMB facilitator to work with. I love the structure of his builders and the open and honest dialogue. I also think that it helps that we have an awesome group of advisors whom I respect a ton. His builders are a little different mainly because you can tell that he cares and it shows.
I feel like Brownlow really challenges me and I feel like I am surrounded by a good group of leadership that allows me to leave every meeting with something new I can take and implement within my practice.
